Omanoot.org is a non profit organisation based in Israel. We exist to teach Israel through the Arts. Our aim is to promote, support and expose the arts in Israel, in order to engender positive connections with the modern State of Israel.
We see the arts as a unique and arresting way of learning about Israel and its culture. We want to
enable people to engage with Israeli society and see the arts as a perfect way to do this. There is no
more powerful motivator than creativity to stimulate the imagination, and to make people want to
learn more about Israel’s diverse and fascinating society.
Israel is already a part of many Jews collective and individual Jewish Identity. We see it as our role to
find ways of reinforcing this relationship with Israel, through finding engaging and relevant, cultural
references by which an even stronger connection can be made.
Lesson Plans: We provide lessons plans written by professional educators, which aim to teach a
wide range of subjects through the arts. These are available for organisations looking for ways
to teach Israel and Jewish topics in an innovative and inspiring way. Each lesson plan is written
with extensive background information so that any educator is able to teach without pre existing
knowledge of the subject matter or the artwork.
Art Trips: Our Art Trips are available for groups and organisations wishing to learn more about the
Arts in Israel. Each trip raises interesting questions that enable participants to critically analyse and
engage with the diverse field of Israeli and Jewish themes.
Web content: Omanoot.org and Omanoot.com have a major internet presence with constant
updates of content and links to relevant sites. Using the website is an easy and free way to access a
vast amount of information on Israeli music, visual arts, film, visual arts and current cultural events.
We are able to use our web presence to promote Israeli artists to a wide audience across the globe
and thus expose even more people to the fascinating and important work that is generated in Israel.
